The litter is designed to be left in the tray over a period of days and only requires you to remove the solid waste, until the litter is completely used, when you should start over again.

Clumping litters such as Sophisticat Choice or Pettex; are also known as Fullers Earth or Heavyweight litters that form clumps when used. This is very economical because only the used litter is removed. Regular tray maintenance is required to remove clumps as well as solid waste. It is important to fill your litter tray to the recommended depth so that clumps can be easily removed.

Woodbased cat litters such as Smart Cat or Bestpets are even lower in density than lightweight mineral litters.
