Guinea Pig Food
Guinea Pigs require a nutritionally balanced diet made up of three parts; Hay, Dry Food & Fresh Vegetables. With the right balance of these food groups your Guinea Pig will stay healthy & fit.
A bad diet can result in overgrown teeth, obesity and digestion problems. Feeding Fresh Vegetables & Hay daily with dry food will provide them with the fibre, vitamins & minerals they require to keep them fit and healthy and the Hay will also help to wear down their teeth.
There are two main types of guinea pig food are pellets & mixes.
Guinea Pig Mixes contain a variety of different ingredients such as cereals & flaked peas.
Guinea Pig Pellets have the ingredients mixed together within the pellets.
If your guinea pig selectively feeds from a mix then a guinea pig food like Burgess Supa Guinea Pig Excel will be in general the best type of guinea pig food.
