Round Sewn Leather Choke Dog Collars are traditional training collars that are often recommended by dog handlers and obedience trainers, especially for long haired breeds, as they are more comfortable to wear, silent in action and don't pluck at your dog's fur, unlike a check chain collar which can result in fur damage as a result of the choke and release action!
Many working and gun dog owners also prefer a round leather choke collar as it's better for obedience and training, is made from premium bridle leather with a consistent grain and thickness, sewn for strength rather than riveted for long term durability, making the collar ideally suited for working dogs, as well as owners wanting to train their dog or puppy.
The round leather choke dog collars we sell are made from soft bridle leather, that have a consistent grain and thickness, with a nylon core for added strength and shape retention, that are tanned with 100% natural fats which help the choke collar remain supple and improve durability over time.
The round choke collar is also suited to longhaired dog breeds, not only because it's training friendly, but because a leather choke collar does not flatten the coat, making the collar suitable for breeders too!
Leather is a Natural material which has a number of benefits, it looks wonderful, is strong and water repellant. However if your dog is guilty of constantly chewing or enjoys swimming, it is advisable to purchase a synthetic fibre such as nylon for both your collar and lead, which are also available on this website. There are many leather collars and leads on the market, but not all of them are made to the same high quality.
