Layers Mash can be fed 3 weeks before your chickens start to lay, which is approximately 20 - 24 weeks of age, the point of lay will vary depending on the variety of chickens you keep, for instance Rhode Island Red, Brahma, Sussex and Orpington, they are also suitable for laying ducks and bantams.

Layers mash contains optimum levels of essential fatty and amino acids for good egg size, with Calcium & Phosphorus to help good shell strength, with added natural pigments Lutein & Zeaxathin from marigold and maize extracts and Citranaxanthin found naturally in fruits for a deep yolk colour.

Layers mash just like layers pellets is a complete food formulated to keep your chickens healthy, but supplied in a powder form with all the same essential vitamins, minerals and trace elements found in layers pellets and is much easier for very young chickens to digest.

Layers Mash also know as Layers Meal can be soaked in cold or warm water to create a porridge feed and then fed to your chickens to keep them warm in the winter. Layers mash takes longer to consume and is ideal for chickens that have a tendency to over pluck as it keeps them occupied.

Why not spice up your layers mash as a treat, by adding some bread, rice, sweetcorn or mealworms to make a yummy porridge, to keep them warm, entertained and occupied on a cold wintery day?

Lastly Dodson and Horrell layers mash is 100% natural, vegetarian society approved, does not contain any GM ingredients, is non medicated and fully traceable, so you can be assured that you are feeding your chickens a high quality balanced feed.
