Wild Bird Food by Johnston & Jeff, is a high quality general purpose wild bird food mix intended to attract a wide variety of wild birds into your garden, in an economical 20kg sack, saving you time and money buying small expensive bags of wild bird food from your local pet shop or garden centre.

The wild bird food contains a blend of seeds with the correct nutritional values to fed all year round: Black Sunflower, Red Dari, Natural Groats, Millet, Cut Maize, Wheat, Various Small Seeds and Vegetable Oil.

Suitable for the following wild bird varieties: Tits, Bramblings, Finches, Buntings, Dunnocks, Sparrow, Linnet, Nuthatch, Siskin, Yellow Hammer.

If you wish to see many different varieties of wild birds in your garden, a wide selection of food is recommended, for example Nigerseed, Sunflower Hearts, Peanuts, Black Sunflowerseed and Fat Balls.

What household scraps are suitable for wild birds?

We all love to feed our garden birds, but there are some foods that should never to be fed to wild birds, cooking fat, polyunsaturated margarines, milk, coconut, salted peanuts, salty bacon, chips, crisps and mouldy bread. But you can feed your wild birds food like pastry, breadcrumbs, dried fruit, mild grated cheese, cooked rice and potatoes or bruised fruit like pears and apples from your garden or supermarket shop that you have accidentally dropped!

Providing your wild birds with a mixture of wild bird food varieties, including single seeds, such as sunflower hearts, peanuts, niger seed and high calorie bird foods like fat balls and suet pellets, with suitable table scraps mentioned above you are more like to attract a larger variety of wild bird species to your garden, than just feeding a single wild bird food by itself.

This is so good that I buy it not only for myself but for neighbours and also family that live in different parts of the country as it is such good value for money, birds eat it, makes excellent bird cakes, I fill the seeders each day and they soon clear it all.

The birds are getting through almost two feeders a day - up to 20 birds on each feeder at any one time - so I think they like it !
