Buying Information

When you find a product you would like to purchase click the Add to Basket button. You will then be taken to your Shopping Basket showing the quantity ordered and the cost you have to pay including any shipping charge, but you will need to enter your postcode into the delivery price check box to find out the exact delivery cost, if you are not logged in already.

You can delete an item, change the quantity, continue shopping for more items or proceed to the checkout to pay for them. If you are registered customer of Valupets.com you won't need enter your details again, simply log in using your email address and password. If this is your first time shopping with us, please enter your full address details, landline telephone number and optional mobile number on our form, so that your postman or DPD courier can find you.

On the checkout page you can select your payment method. If you are a local customer you can pay by COD, Cheque, Credit Card or Bank Transfer. If you decide to pay by credit or debit card you can process your transaction by using Nochex to make your card payment.

Unfortunately if you do not live in the local area you cannot pay by COD, but you can pay by Credit or Debit Card, Bank Transfer and Cheque. If you wish to collect & pay for purchases made using the website, we only accept Cheque or Cash payments only!

Please note credit and debit card transactions, that are processed by Nochex will incur a 95p transaction charge regardless of value, as a contribution towards the cost of processing the transaction, NOT the actual cost which is unfortunately higher for us, as we DO NOT build transaction charges into our prices to keep them as LOW AS POSSIBLE. There are NO transaction charges for payments made by Cheque or Bank Transfer as our bank does not charge us a penny for processing the payments.

Please allow 5 - 7 working days for Cheque payments to clear. As soon as you payment clears we will dispatch your order by Royal Mail or Courier.

You will receive an Order Confirmation by email for the items you wish to purchase after selecting your payment method and confirmation of card payment from Nochex if you pay via debit or credit card. All small items such as collars and leads are sent by Royal Mail, Recorded Delivery. Larger items such as Hamster Cages & Pet Food are sent by next day courier.

All heavy orders will be sent by DPD Courier and delivered the NEXT Day or within 2 Days for Northern Ireland and Scottish Highlands & Islands customers, subject to stock availability. Please make sure you place your order before 2pm for same day dispatch, to allow us time to pick and pack your order.

Orders sent by DPD Courier will receive email notifications advising them of dispatch and a One Hour Delivery Window, allowing you to plan your day without worrying about missing your delivery. Customers that also provide us with a mobile number will also receive FREE Text and SMS notifications advising them of dispatch and one hour delivery window.

Due to seasonal demand over the Xmas Holidays please order early so that we dispatch your order as quickly as possible and allow extra time for unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather conditions, i.e. snow and flooding that can cause delivery delays.

Please note our courier DPD does not deliver to customers on weekends or public bank holidays so please allow yourself an extra few days when placing food orders. But you can pay an 'Optional Weekend Delivery Charge' and get your parcel delivered on Saturday or Sunday if you need it urgently.

Customers requesting us to leave parcels without a signature, do at their own risk and we will not be held liable for parcels damaged by bad weather conditions if left outside exposed to the elements. Requesting your parcel be left in a safe place without a signature is simply, just add your delivery instructions to your order that will them be passed onto the courier.

If you want your order delivered to your place of work that's absolutely fine, just provide us with your work address details including a contact telephone number as any work colleague can sign for your delivery in your absence!
