Antos Highland Extra Large Antlers are 100% natural dog chews, that are sustainably sourced from Red and Fallow Deer antler from the Scottish Highlands and European deer herds. Deer antlers although more expensive than some dog chews, they are free from additives and preservatives are long lasting and odour free. The antlers are simply cleaned without the use of chemicals and cut to various sizes and weights for dogs to chew on. Any sharp points on the antler are also removed for safety.
As the eco friendly dog chew is completely natural, they come in various interesting shapes, sizes and colours, no two antlers are ever identical. Deer antler is a healthy dog chew that is low in fat and full of natural minerals, protein and calcium. Chewing a deer antler will also help satisfy your dog's instinctive urge to chew something, whilst also helping to strengthen and clean your dog's teeth.
Customers frequently ask us what are antlers made from?
Antlers are simply branched structures that are made entirely from bone, which deer shed annually after the mating season and only occur in males.
Just like a smoked bone your dog will grind down the antler chew over time, so there is little to no mess unlike a bone from the butchers and should not splinter either, making them ideal for owners who wished their dog wouldn't make so much mess in the house.
The approximate weight of an extra large antler is between 220 - 300g. As with all dog chews we advise owners to supply access to fresh water at all times and supervision is recommended.
