Arden Grange Puppy Junior Large Breed contains ethically produced human grade chicken, no battery farmed chickens are used in the puppy food and has been developed to meet the nutritional demands of large and giant breed puppies, formulated using large kibbles that are perfect for larger breeds for example German Shepherds, Labradors and Newfoundlands that can be fed dry or moistened depending on your puppies preference.

A large or giant breed puppy ideally requires a food with a moderate fat content to support bone growth, without excessive weight gain, consequently arden grange puppy junior large breed has been formulated to ensure a controlled and steady growth rate, that's lower in calories to help avoid health problems like the development of bone disease, that is associated with over nutrition of large and giant breed puppies.

Arden Grange Puppy Junior Large Breed Chicken and Rice uses chicken oil as the primary fat source as it's easily digested by most puppy breeds and contains high levels of glucosamine, chondroitin and MSM which will help protect your puppy's joints during skeletal development as well as antioxidants and nucleotides to support the developing immune system.

Arden grange large breed puppy junior should be fed from 8 weeks of age to 12 months approximately, or up to 18 months of age for giant breeds such as Mastiffs, Great Danes & Saint Bernards. After 12 or 18 months you can change your large breed puppy to Arden Grange Adult Large Breed, that's has been formulated specifically for the nutritional requirements of large and giant adult dogs or perhaps the adult lamb & rice or salmon & rice varieties.

Another question we are asked frequently by owners, is when should they change from a puppy food to an adult recipe?

Regardless of the brand, the consensus from pet food nutritionists is to gradually change your puppy's diet over a week or so that your young adult dog's digestive system adapts to the new nutrient levels and ingredients in the food.

As a simple rule of thumb, we suggest you consider changing from your large breed puppy food to an adult recipe, when your puppy reaches its maximum skeletal height, i.e. the height your puppy should be as an adult dog, then if your large breed puppy is just filing out, maybe consider changing to an arden grange adult variety, such as the chicken and rice or lamb and rice shown on the website.
