Serrano Giant Ham Bones are a mouth watering dog treats that are vacuum packed for long life and freshness. These Serrano Mega Parma Ham Bones are approximately 9 inches or 23cm long, 100% natural and are produced from ham bones in Spain, hence the name Serrano Ham or Jamon serrano (dry-cured mountain ham) in Spanish.
Fresh hams are first trimmed and then cleaned, stacked and covered with salt for two weeks to draw out the excess moisture in the ham, which are then washed and hanged to dry for six months. Finally the hams are hung for between six to eighteen months in purpose built drying sheds that are usually located on the mountain sides of Spain, chosen for their cool climate, which is why the serrano ham is known as the mountain ham!
After the hams are sliced into thin slices, for us to eat in Spanish tapas restaurants with a bottle of wine, there is always plenty of juicy meat left on the bone, which also contains an inner treat of marrowbone, that you dog will find irresistible and nutritious.
Please note that parma ham bones have a lot of meat on them, which contain natural juices that may stain your carpet, therefore we recommend that you feed your dog away from carpet and furnishings that may stain.
